Fab Five

Right now, I'm being inspired by all things nautical.  I don't know if it's the promise of summer being so close or the fact that I leave for the beach in a week... either way, here's some things I love right now:

{I can't wait to paint this}
{clever take on a traditional wreath}
{love this take on a shirt dress}
{a boat tote in one of my favorite colors}
{Mystique sandals}

Lustworthy: Spring Shoe Styles for Less

Yesterday, my friend and I were chatting about the Sam Edelman "Gigi" sandal (LOVE.), but the reviews written on many sites have deterred both of us from making this purchase... basically, they're not that comfortable and you can find the same thing for less cost.

Naturally, finds like these prompt the question... The Spring, would you rather:

Feeling Inspired...

Each day, I find more flowers blooming in the garden that my sister and I planted.  It starts my day off cheerfully and I can't help but feel inspired by the colors and romantic charm.

It seems to me that others are inspired by blooms this Spring, too...

Have you also noticed the abundance of floral-themed garments popping up this Spring?  I can't help but love them!

DIY: Drawer Satchels

This weekend, while deep into my Spring Cleaning, I realized that the little satchels I keep in my drawers needed an upgrade....

Step 1 - Cut rectangles of fabric & seam them up both sides to create a small pouch

Step 2 - Fill pouches with potpurri

Step 4 - Using an additional fabric, cut a circle out the fits your pouch

Step 5 - Gather all ends up, tie with a bow!

Ta da!  Drawer satchels are ready for use!

I Dare You: Follow Up

I must say, I did well at my challenge this weekend.  While cleaning house is NEVER my favorite thing to do, I feel very satisfied with my work and am pleased to report that I was highly realistic in what I wear and what I can share.

{different types of hangers help denote categories of clothing}
{sweaters organized by color makes choosing a second layer easy}
{shelving to hold folded clothes}
{tangled mess of belts no more!}
{the result?  2 large bags of clothes to swap at Sarai's party!}
Whew.  Glad that's done!

Fab Five

Happy Earth Month everyone!  Here's a few eco-friendly things I'm loving right now that are great ways to celebrate Spring:

{eggshell seed pots}
{DIY - cover old cans and use as vases!}
{cups made from old wine bottles}
{energy efficient light bulbs - saves money, too!}
{natural nail polish in spring's hottest color}

How will you celebrate Earth Month?

I Dare You: Think Spring - Home Edition!

I've mentioned this before, but to remind you, my friend Sarai is hosting a clothing swap in the next week or two... The challenge this week is to Clean for a Cause!  I haven't gone through the clothes in my closet for over two years now, so you can only imagine what's lurking in there.  I plan to find some goodies for the swap as well as items I can DIY in the future.

These photos are my inspiration for today:

{divided by season}
{storage & decor}
{love the idea of having belts on hooks}
{happy colored boxes}
{someday...}
With these photos from Pinterest and a few tips from Oprah, I'm ready to go!  Happy Spring Cleaning!
